With a huge market following and literally thousands of ads live and active on the site at any one time, finding a place to live should be a breeze with this excellent service. EasyRoommate UK is part of the worldwide EasyRoommate brand, which has helped to arrange more than 3 million flatshares around the world. As the name suggests, EasyRoommate UK prides itself on being one of the simplest and most straightforward places on the internet to find a place to live or someone to live with, and this is backed up by scores of user testimonials given by happy members of the site.

Registering with EasyRoommate is completely free of charge and takes just 30 seconds. Our only quibble is that it’s not possible to view any of the adverts before you join the site, which is a little frustrating as you have no idea whether there are many adverts placed in your local area until you sign up.  Our other comment is that, once you’re signed up, you receive a lot of email updates from the site – fine when you’re still searching, but irritating once you’re done.

EasyRoommate has been operating worldwide for around 16 years, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that the site is packed full of great features that help make the experience of finding a flat or a flatmate easier. The search function helps bring up all of the most relevant ads, while users can also filter their results to tailor them to their specific needs.  We particularly liked the “search by tube or train station” feature, which is ideal if you are looking to find a place in a large city and would rely on access to transport links. The adverts themselves are clean and free of unnecessary information, making it easy to compare properties.  All in all, if you want a straightforward experience when looking for a flatmate or place to live, EasyRoommate will probably be perfect for you – it does exactly what it says on the tin!

Premium membership of the site starts at £9.99 for five days while prices vary depending on duration and whether you are a landlord or you are looking for a place to rent.  Premium members can upload up to five adverts at any time and contact all members of the site without restriction (unlike free members, who cannot contact each other, only premium users). Premium users can also improve the chances of their adverts being seen, by highlighting them in search results and appearing higher in the list.
